The two peptides are paired because they act on different, complementary phases of healing. The rationale is that TB-500 mobilizes and recruits cells while BPC-157 protects the site and drives their maturation — together spanning the inflammatory and regenerative phases, with combined influence over growth factors such as VEGF, FGF, and IGF-1, which is of particular interest for poorly-vascularized tissue like tendon, ligament, and cartilage.
The "synergy" is a mechanistic and clinic/vendor-observation rationale, not a controlled finding — there is no randomized trial of the combination, and claims that it "heals better than either alone" are anecdotal or marketing. Each component individually is preclinical-dominant (rodent models), without human efficacy trials.
