Prostamax is a Khavinson peptide bioregulator — the synthetic tetrapeptide Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro ("KEDP", molecular formula C20H33N5O9, ~487.5 Da), targeted at prostate tissue.
Class
Khavinson peptide bioregulator; synthetic tetrapeptide Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro (KEDP), prostate-targeted. Single compound.
Mechanism
Prostamax is one of the Khavinson "short peptide bioregulators." Rather than acting through receptor agonism, it is proposed to work by structural modulation of the DNA–protein complex — altering chromatin (deheterochromatinization) in cells from elderly subjects and potentially reactivating genes that are repressed with age, with tissue specificity toward prostate cell populations.
Research summary
The indexed literature here is genuinely on-topic (Khavinson chromatin and organotypic-culture papers, several of which name prostamax or the KEDP sequence). Reported findings include, in rat models, reduced prostate inflammation and swelling and slowed pathological remodeling in prostatitis; and, in human-lymphocyte chromatin studies, age-related deheterochromatinization effects.
Epistemic caveat: essentially all of this work originates from Professor Vladimir Khavinson's group at the St. Petersburg Institute of Bioregulation and Gerontology — a single institute and school of thought, with scarce independent replication. The data are mostly cell- and animal-based, with no controlled human trials.
Administration
No human clinical trial has established administration parameters for Prostamax; VialTalk does not provide community-sourced dosing.
Clinical / safety context
Not approved in the US/EU; sold research-use-only or as a supplement-style "peptide bioregulator" in some markets. Reported as well tolerated in the originating literature, but there is no rigorous independent safety dataset.
Evidence quality — Limited / single-group
Mechanistically interesting but evidentiarily weak from an independent standpoint: the data come almost entirely from one institute, are mostly cell/animal, and lack independent replication and controlled human trials.
Notes
Prostamax = KEDP tetrapeptide (Lys-Glu-Asp-Pro), a prostate-targeted Khavinson bioregulator. Same family as Thymogen, Ovagen, Chonluten, and Epitalon.
