I was diagnosed as a type 2 diabetic at 22. 22 years of following the MD's orders, taking all the things, doing all the stuff. Best treatment for my HbA1c turned out to be GLP's. I started on my first one a little over 18 years ago. Because they work well as treatment for me I have been on almost every single commercially available GLP for those 18 years. August of 25, my health insurance decided that I did not need the compound that had worked so well for me. This was the best thing to ever happen to me. I started looking around for ways to get what I knew would help my glucose. Because of that looking, I fell into the rabbit hole. ALL THE WAY DOWN! In August of 25 I was 295lbs. A1C was a mess at 7.8 and with no hope of coming down easily, and all of my other markers were way off. 22 years of doing it their way, and now 9months later I am healthier than at any point of those 22 years. I have bloodwork in June but my last numbers showed considerable changes. I was at 6.9 on my A1C, triglycerides in range for the first time ever, and more. I am confident that I am going to see even better numbers when I go back in June.
This morning's weight -257.7 - This number doesn't tell the whole story though. At my lightest on the journey I was at 249, but I have been going to the gym with a vengeance. From December at 249 to today I have put on about 7.5lbs of muscle. The rest is water weight, thanks Tesamorlin! I've typically been in the gym off an on most of my adult life. With periods of good growth/maintenance, but never with the energy and vigor that I have now. A big part of that was getting on TRT. It has helped me in ways that I cannot even describe. The kicker.... Ive known I had low T for 14 years. A while back I began sharing my stack and progress with my MD. I went into that appointment with my notebook (journal) several printed studies, and best of all with results. Their exact words were, "I cant legal help you with any of this stuff, but I can personally cheer you on and tell you to keep going." I believe every individual should become their own medical advocate. Dont show up with youtube, or tiktok, do the research, assimilate the data, and turn your Dr into a supporting role not a director.
If you look at my stack I have NPP in there, yes it is a PED, no it is not being used "on cycle." My MD prescribed it after I presented them with some information that pointed to the compound solving an issue that would allow me to get off an opioid pain med. It has helped me with joint pain and allowed some serios rebuilding of my shoulder. Still a ways to go there but the benefits are real.
If you've made it this far, thanks for reading. I love to share my journey and experience with any who ask.
