Current Research Stack:

Weight: No major change.
Appetite: Still hit or miss. Some days I’m just not very hungry, but I also know I’m not making protein enough of a priority yet.
Energy: Fairly consistent. More tired in the morning and actually overslept and missed an 8a.m virtual meeting :/
Mood: Optimistic and hopeful.
Nutrition:
I’ve been trying a bunch of different protein powders lately and I still haven’t found one that I’m completely crazy about. I really don’t like the taste of stevia, but it seems like it’s in almost everything these days, so I’m trying to give some of them a fair shot. There are a couple brands I like better that use coconut sugar, but I think the biggest thing is that I don’t enjoy just drinking protein shakes with milk or water. I feel like actual recipes are going to be the answer. Tonight I’m making a tiramisu overnight oats recipe and over the next few days I want to experiment with more high-protein meals and desserts.
I’ve also realized that I need to be much more intentional about my protein intake. Some days I probably don’t even come close to getting enough, either because I’m not hungry or because I’m simply not thinking about it. My goal is that by August 1st I’ll be consistently tracking everything and getting at least 100 grams of protein every day. That sounds like a lot to me right now, but I have to start somewhere.
I’ve tried making my own meal plans over and over, and I think this week I’m just going to follow someone else’s meal plan exactly—including the macros—and see how I do. Sometimes I think I overcomplicate things.
I really believe my nutrition is one of the biggest things keeping me stalled right now. My goal is to lose a good amount of weight before our family cruise on October 2nd. I know it won’t happen overnight but I also know that when I put my head down and stay consistent, I can really surprise myself.
