Probably actually not.
The biggest thing is, it really doesn’t hurt when most of these vendors are already doing six to seven different tests. From what I understand, fentanyl testing is usually getting thrown in for little to no extra cost. So at that point, why not keep the extra peace of mind?
China is a major fentanyl producer, so I don’t think it’s crazy for people to want that extra layer of reassurance, especially if it’s basically being included for free. If fentanyl testing was raising the price of the product, then I’d probably say no, it’s not really needed. But when a vendor is already doing heavy testing and the fentanyl screen is just one more test added on, I think it’s worth it for the peace of mind.
From what I’ve heard, there was really only one isolated situation where a shipment of peptides was involved with fentanyl being shipped to try to hide it, and they weren’t even in the same container. Ever since then, it kind of became a topic people talk about. That’s just the word on the street from what I understand.
So is fentanyl contamination a super common issue with grey market orders? Probably not. But if the test is included at no real cost, I don’t see any downside to having it.

Thanks for the reply. I’ve just been seeing people talk about it and also seeing that it was being tested for by a lot of the vendors on here. I take random drug screens for work and don’t want to lose my job.

No, I wouldn’t look at it like that. The fentanyl testing is more of an extra safety precaution than something people are expecting to commonly find.
Realistically, fentanyl contamination in this situation is not something I would consider likely, and the test is mostly just peace of mind when vendors are already doing heavy testing anyway. It’s not really about people failing drug screens. If fentanyl contamination were actually present at a meaningful level in something someone injected, the bigger concern would be immediate safety, not just a work drug test.
So no, I would not expect you to randomly fail for fentanyl from this. The extra testing is simply another layer of reassurance, especially when it’s included at little to no extra cost. I think you’re most likely going to be completely fine, but I also understand why you’d want to ask.
